Scientists: Humans are genetically modified in Europe

Genetics from the UK has said that people will be the first genetically modified in Europe. The researchers plan in the future, the way to treat a deadly blood disease.

Professor of the Institute named after Francis Crick Robin Lovell-Badge and his colleague from the University of Kent say that this method of genetic modification of the human DNA is a safe and effective way of dealing with serious blood disorders. The researchers found that disorders of the blood system reduces the production of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen. Due to the change in DNA, scientists plan to cut the component that represses the production of hemoglobin.

It is reported that genetics method genetic modification plan to remove the mutated region of DNA. Thus, the bone marrow of the patient will be able to recover and again produce high levels of hemoglobin.
