Several Estrians invited by NHL teams

Defenseman Thomas Grégoire and striker Hugo Roy, both of Sherbrooke’s Phoenix, were invited to participate in the National Avalanche Avalanche Development Camp in the National Hockey League. Goaltender Alex D’Orio, meanwhile, received the call of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The three players did not hear their name in the NHL draft in Chicago, but they will still have the opportunity to show their expertise in the big league.

Thomas Grégoire, who scored an impressive 64 points last season, and Hugo Roy, who wore the C with the birds, will fly to Denver on Sunday.

Very disappointed not to have been drafted, Alex D’Orio will still have the chance to stand out with the champions of the Stanley Cup.

The former Val des Cantonniers kept the net in 28 games this year with the Saint John Sea Dogs. The Sherbrooke native has maintained an average of 2.40 goals and a .903% efficiency for the QMJHL champions.
