Shahs: Our region calls for the restoration of warm loans, which in June ran out of money

Party “Our land” calls on the government to continue funding the energy modernization of housing and to increase the maximum amount of reimbursement for the purchase of boilers and insulation. This was stated today by the MP from the party of Sergei Shakhov, reports a press-service.

He criticized the termination of the issuance of cheap government loans for the insulation of houses and installation of energy saving equipment.

“Surprisingly, this year the government plans for energy modernization less money than last year to 400 million hryvnia against 732. it is not Surprising that loans have dried up for six months that is reminiscent of energy diversion. Lending should be resumed. For many Ukrainians and associations of condominiums is the only way to insulate homes and save on heating in winter”, – commented on the problem Sergey Shakhov.

MP from the “Our land” insists that the program “warm” of lending should not only continue but to expand.

“Due to inflation it is necessary to increase the maximum amount of compensation for the purchase of boilers and insulation. After all, investing in energy modernization allows to save up to 50 percent of heating costs. And the more we invest in more efficient technology, the greater the returns will be in the future”, – summarized Sergey Shakhov.

Recall, reimbursement for “warm” loans shall be made by the state “Ukrgasbank”, “Oschadbank” and “PrivatBank”. The program provides reimbursement of 20% of the cost of solid fuel boilers, 35% of the cost of insulation for individual housing and up to 70% of the cost of insulation of high-rise buildings.

The program was founded in 2014. Since then, it has used more than 400 thousand families, which attracted more than 5 billion UAH “warm” loans. This year the programme has been allocated 400 million UAH. In late August, the head of the State Agency on energy efficiency and energy saving reported that banks have stopped issuing “warm loans” in connection with the exhaustion of the funds provided by the state program for 2018.
