“We continue to monitor the situation closely. The storm moves to the East-of-Quebec”, stated the minister Geneviève Guilbault, during a media scrum Wednesday morning.

She also indicated that “nothing major” happened. “No injuries, no deaths,” she added.

As to the state of the roads, the minister Bonnardel said that, “the work is done right way: as much by our teams in-house, Montreal, Quebec city and elsewhere, that our private entrepreneurs”.

At 6 am on Wednesday morning, it was reported “some of the closures [of the road] to the left and to the right and winds quite violent” in several regions of Quebec.

“So we are monitoring the situation closely. I will have another report in the day”, the minister said Bonnardel.

The latter ensures that “the interaction between the different levels, [to be] with the public Safety, with the Sûreté du Québec and with the tugs” has been greatly improved since the storm of march 2017, where 300 vehicles had remained prisoners of the snow on highway 13 in Montreal.

For his part, prime minister François Legault has emphasized the work of the authorities in place.

“I would like to thank the staff, to Transportation, to public Safety, the police. I think it was successful, that night, to avoid the worst”, said the head caquiste.
