Carbohydrates are a necessary component of our diet that gives the body energy. This was reported by the acting head of the Ministry of health of Ukraine Ulyana Suprun on Facebook.
According to her, the carbohydrates are simple, ordinary sugar (in cakes, sweets), fructose and sucrose (in fruits and vegetables), lactose (in dairy products), and the complex is starch. Complex carbohydrates, as noted by Suprun, there are in potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and cereals.
“Harm of simple carbohydrates in the added sugar (in sweets or one that we ourselves added to the dish). They cause severe fluctuations in blood glucose. When it is too much, you release the hormone insulin, and the glucose leaves the bloodstream, is deposited in the liver, muscle and adipose tissue in the form of reserves of glycogen and fat,” said Suprun.
That is why, according to her, it is important to monitor the level of consumption of such sugars. The average daily allowance of added sugars should be no more than 32-50 grams.
Suprun also noted that if you do exercise shortly before or after eating the sweet, the most sugar will absorb it muscle and less fat is formed in the internal organs.
Suprun stressed that no dietary recommendation does not suggest complete abandonment of carbohydrates, and the restrictions apply only to added sugars. At the same time, the fruit are a source of simple sugars, starchy vegetables, legumes, whole grains is recommended as the basis of the diet. Long no carb diet is not recognized as healthy and beneficial to a wide range of people.
“It is important to understand that the best way to a healthy weight and the same health – balanced diet. Severe food limitation does not give the desired effect. When the diet is already have to contend with unreasonably strong appetite and lost weight will quickly return. And the body will experience severe stress,” said Suprun.
