The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko definitely will run for the presidential elections in 2019. This was announced by Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, transfers “Ukrainian truth”.
“Peter definitely will go to the presidential election and will most certainly offer to elect him President to continue his mission on the main functions of the head of state,” he said.
In the opinion of the attorney General, Poroshenko is to appeal to the fact that he fulfilled the mission to create an army made serious steps in the direction of the European Union and NATO and on changes in the system of governance.
“In the presidential election no change of course is required. The President of course must be the same: full state independence, territorial integrity, strong efficient army, joining the EU and NATO, the destruction of the remnants of totalitarianism in the governance of the country”, he added.
Note that the presidential elections in Ukraine, according to the Constitution, to be held March 31, 2019.
At the moment the intention to run for the presidency said the head of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko, people’s Deputy Oleksandr Shevchenko, the former head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaychenko, a former representative of Ukraine in the TAG Roman Bezsmertny, the extra fractional Deputy Yury Derevyanko, as well as the leader of the party “Civic position” Anatoly Gritsenko and ex-head of GFS Roman Nasirov.
A similar statement was also made by the singer Ivo Bobul, however, later added that it was a joke.
The current head of state officially about the intention to participate in the presidential campaign is not stated, however, assured that he would not participate in parliamentary elections.
Parliamentary elections are due October 27, 2019.
