The Committee of voters expect from presidential candidates and suspension of the advertising campaign before the election

The Committee of voters of Ukraine appealed to political parties and is waiting for potential candidates for the presidency of the suspension of the advertising campaign before the official start of the election. This broadcast channel “112 Ukraine” said the Director-General of the Committee of voters of Ukraine Oleksiy Koshel.

“We appealed to political parties. First, a number of politicians publicly opposed the advertising. Moreover, was was a bill. We expect everyone, without exception, potential presidential candidates that they suspended the ad campaign before the official start of the election,” he said.

At the same time, Koshel said that the agitation and political advertising before the start of elections is not prohibited by law.

“Despite the fact that now they do not violate the law, they can run a campaign and spend any money, but it undermines the credibility of the electoral processes. And citizens should have three months of silence in order to realize your choice,” he said.

Director-General of the Committee of voters believes that citizens will be surprised at how much the party spent on advertising.

“Now we wait for the results of the parties for this quarter. I think that many people will be amazed when you will see quite a large amount of party spending on advertising during 4-5 months before the official start of the elections”, – summed up the Purse.

Note that the presidential elections in Ukraine, according to the Constitution, to be held March 31, 2019.

At the moment the intention to run for the presidency said the head of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko, people’s Deputy Oleksandr Shevchenko, the former head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaychenko, a former representative of Ukraine in the TAG Roman Bezsmertny, the extra fractional Deputy Yury Derevyanko, as well as the leader of the party “Civic position” Anatoly Gritsenko and ex-head of GFS Roman Nasirov.

A similar statement was also made by the singer Ivo Bobul, however, later added that it was a joke.

The current head of state officially about the intention to participate in the presidential campaign is not stated, however, assured that he would not participate in parliamentary elections.

Parliamentary elections are due October 27, 2019.
