The Goloseevsky district court of Kiev arrested the former head of Appellate court of the Crimea Valeriy Chernobuk suspected of treason. About this on his page in Facebook reported the press Secretary of the PGO Andrei Lysenko.
“Goloseevsky district court of Kiev on 5 November 2018 to 9:00 has considered the petition of Prosecutor’s office of ARC on election of a preventive measure former President of the Appeal court of the Crimea of Chernobuk V. I. Upon consideration of the petition last elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention”, – he said.
As said “Ukrainian news” the press-Secretary of the public Prosecutor Larisa Sargan, was taken into custody without collateral alternative, the period of 2 months.
We will remind, on detention by law enforcement bodies of the former head of Appellate court of the Crimea Valeriy Chernobuk in Kiev on suspicion of treason became known on 3 November.
He headed the court of Appeal in the Crimea from December 2011 to April 2014. In July this year, Ukrainian law enforcement authorities declared him wanted.
Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared that ex-the head of Appellate court of the Crimea was handed to the suspicion of an offense under article 111 of the criminal code (treason). According to him, Chernobuk carried out subversive activities in particular helped move the Crimean courts in the administration of justice on the basis of the legislation of Russia.
According to investigators, during the annexation of Crimea by Russia Chernobuk has collaborated with the occupation authorities. In particular, March 24, 2014 in the court he called upon the judges to learn the law of the Russian Federation to obtain Russian passports.
The Chernobuk has denied allegations of separatism.
