What is good with the binge-watching, it is that one does not lose much time to wait for the results of such or such a series. In a week or two it is bent and we know if the program has been a success or not. And in the case of Stranger Things, it was a cardboard box.

After that, it is not really a surprise as the first season was an event in time or even a huge surprise for most of us. And Netflix has clearly put the average for that season 2 did nothing wrong next to his elder and not be a huge disappointment. If we, for our part, very much enjoyed this second season, are now expected to foot closes the season 3, which should not happen immediately, however.

In fact, the brothers Duffer, creators, show runners, and writers of the show, are in the midst of the writing, the filming is not scheduled before a little while, and he should not expect to see the arrival of new episodes before at least a big year. In addition, the team will need to take into account an essential fact for that season 3 is a success and that it will not collapse on itself : the age of its young actors. In fact, there is nothing between season 1 and season 2, we saw the change, the children are starting puberty and therefore, they will dramatically change in very little time. It must not, therefore, expect that season 3 begins directly after the 2, and that, Matt Duffer are fully aware, as he just speak at the microphone in the Hollywood Reporter :

“Even if we wanted to dive back into action as quickly as possible, we could not do it. Our children are growing up. What we can do faster, that is, write the serial and start the production phase. They will have almost a year older when they begin to turn to the new season. This puts us face some challenges. So we can’t start directly after the end of season 2. This requires us to make a leap in time.”

And this is probably the smartest choice to make in terms of the management of the age of the actors but also from a point of view more dramatic. Because if Hawkins takes a big threat by year on the mug, our characters would not have the time to grow up, to mature, to evolve in their lives, taking into account their past experiences, and we would have the impression to miss something essential in that Stranger Things wants to tell us since the beginning.
