The hotel Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth has celebrated Sunday, his 60th birthday. For the occasion, Montrealers were invited to come and experience the fruits of renovations, completed last fall at a total cost of $ 140 million.

In sixty years, many great names have graced the floor of the Queen Elizabeth, queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela and John Travolta. But this is no doubt the passing of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in may 1969 that has most marked the history of the hotel.

The suite 1742, where the illustrious couple pacifist held their “Bed-In” he has 49 years old, has been renovated and many surprises await the fans who are willing to pay between 2000 and 3000 dollars to spend the night there.
