The concentration of harmful substances in the Kherson region due to the environmental situation in the North of Crimea does not exceed a dangerous level, threatening the health of children and adults. It is reported by the Ministry of health of Ukraine as of 16:00 on Thursday.
“The level of harmful substances in the Kherson region is not exceeded, the health of children and adults out of danger. The results of laboratory research of soil, water and air on the territory of Kherson region exceeding permissible concentrations of nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide was not detected. The measurements were conducted in nearby villages of the border area Chaplinka and Kalanchak districts of Kherson region”, – stated in the message.
According to the Agency, no child or adult from the region are not hospitalized.
September 5 medical teams carried out inspections with residents. Among the examined 700 children in 6 localities in 12 discovered complaints related to possible diseases of ENT organs and respiratory tract, not to exceed a perennial characteristic of September, not may be associated with exposure to chemicals.
Over the next days to monitor the condition of the environment and public health will be carried out sampling and analysis of water, soil and air.
Note that control points of entry/exit “Kalanchak and Chaplinka” on the administrative border with temporarily occupied Crimea stopped their work because of the release of chemicals by the plant Crimean Titan in normal mode running PPC “Chongar”.
As previously reported, in the city of Armyansk in the North annexed the Crimea there was an emission into the atmosphere of substances of unknown origin. On metal objects, rooftops, on the leaves of the trees formed oily coating having a yellowish tint. First, the representatives of the occupation authorities did not recognize the problem, but on 4 September the “Crimean government” for the first time stated that the maximum permissible concentration of sulfur dioxide in Armyansk and nearby towns exceeded the norm. Children were evacuated, local residents encouraged to spend less time outdoors.

Inhalation of sulfur dioxide higher concentrations, asphyxiation, speech disorder, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, and possible acute pulmonary edema.
