The national guard will be tough to stop attempts to disrupt the elections of the President and the Rada, Turchynov

Any attempt to disrupt the democratic election of the President and the Verkhovna Rada will be strictly punished by the staff of the National guard. This was announced during the tactical exercises of the national guard Secretary of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, the press service of the NSDC.

“Any attempt to disrupt, illegally influence or interfere with the conduct of fair, transparent, democratic elections in Ukraine must be stopped and punished. Our state is able to guarantee and to ensure the free expression of our citizens!” he said.

The key to this, as noted Turchinov, is “a high level of training, courage, fortitude and selfless devotion to his country soldiers of the National guard of Ukraine!”.

It is no exaggeration to say that our national guard is born by Revolution – a Revolution of Dignity. In the heady days of March 2014 have been created by our Guard, and many volunteers from Maidan went to its ranks to defend the country. The guardsmen were among the first into battle and stopped the advance of Russian aggression in the East,” said Secretary of the NSDC.

He said that today the staff of the national guard have modern equipment, special means and weapons, and most importantly – a high level of professional training in order to effectively counter any attempts of internal destabilization.

According to Turchynov, all non-lethal weapons that use the NSU, certified and used power units of the NATO countries.

Recall, the national guard of Ukraine — a military formation with law enforcement functions, included in the system of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine (MIA) and is designed to perform tasks for the protection and preservation of life, rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens of Ukraine.

As an independent power structure existed from 1991 to 2000, as a military formation with law enforcement functions on the basis of Internal troops of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine and attracting new military personnel on a voluntary basis on 13 March 2014. The total number up to 60 thousand troops.

Regular elections of the President of Ukraine to be held on 31 March 2019. Parliamentary elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 9-th convocation will be held on 27 October 2019.
