In the patrol police will conduct an internal investigation to check the information about the sputtering gas in the direction of a journalist by police officers during protests on Osokorki in Kiev on Saturday. “On the Avenue Grigorenko 28 Jul patrol implemented the protection of public safety during the campaign against the building of the structure. According to preliminary information, the activists were illegally trying to demolish the fence of the building and police used non-lethal weapons with a view to preventing group violations of public order,” she explained.
The police noted that information about the sputtering gas received from the media.
“The leadership of patrol police Department initiated an internal investigation, the results of which will be given a legal assessment of the actions of the patrol,” said the spokesman.
She also predicted that the investigation will take no more than a month.
Earlier it was reported that on 28 July in the capital on Osokorki during a protest against the building clashed with the police. Later, the National Union of journalists of Ukraine reported that during the clashes a police officer sprayed tear gas in the face of international photojournalist for the Associated Press Ephraim Lukacova.
