International human rights organization Amnesty International said that Russian authorities denied her access to the Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov without explanation. About it reports a press-service of the organization.
Later at the Ukrainian division of Amnesty International in Twitter was made public the text received from the Federal service of execution of punishments of the letter.
“The Federal service of execution of punishments across Your request about the possibility of organizing a meeting with the convict Sentsov O. G., who is serving a sentence at the fku IK-8 UFSIN of Russia across the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district, a positive decision is not accepted”, – stated in the letter.
The reasons for the refusal in this case is not specified.
Also representatives of the Federal penitentiary service said that the condition of Sentsov “is stable, no progression”.
The head of the Ukrainian division Oksana Pokalchuk said “Radio Liberty” that the refusal to visit the “no excuses”.
“After nearly three months of hunger strike his health is a serious concern,” – said Pokalchuk and explained that Amnesty International is planning to visit Sentsov together with an independent medical expert who can assess its condition.
