The suspect in the murder of a scientist and researcher of the Holodomor Nicholas Situe turned out to be his distant relative. This was announced acting head of the Central Department of police of GUNP in the Nikolaev area Victor Prokudin, reports 112.ua.
“It is established that the offence involved a 24-year-old man, the inhabitant of the Nikolaev area. He is a distant relative of the victim and repeatedly brought to criminal liability for committing crimes selfish, violent associated with drug trafficking, said Prokudin.
Earlier it was reported that on 1 September, the police received a message stating that the apartment on Central Ave. a man is found dead with signs of violent death. On the body of 65-year-old victim, the experts found numerous stab wounds to the neck, back and chest.
Sought after events, was detained at a stop of public transport.
“Now 25-year-old man detained in order St. 208 criminal procedure code of Ukraine. According to him, the fatal stab wounds he inflicted to the victim because of suddenly arisen quarrel on the basis of personal relationships. It is also known that the scene the offender took away some things of the victim, which was later disposed of at their discretion”, – stated in the message.
Is now under investigation in criminal proceedings under part 2 St. 115 criminal code of Ukraine “Premeditated murder”, which sanction prescribes punishment of imprisonment for up to fifteen years to life imprisonment.
