German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President, Donald trump discussed the situation in Ukraine during a telephone conversation. This was stated by a spokesman for Merkel, Steffen Seibert following the talks, the press service of the German government.
“The talks focused on current international issues and trade issues. The Chancellor and the President share the concern about the development of the situation in Syria in particularly the humanitarian situation in the region of Idlib. Russia call for a deterrent effect on the Syrian regime and to prevent further escalation”, – said in a statement.
Seibert said the two leaders also talked about Ukraine and the Western Balkans, without going into details.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Georgia, together with Ukraine have the largest European perspective.
Note that the President Petro Poroshenko during his speech at the parade in Kiev promised to soon bring in a bill established in the Constitution of the course of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.
