Russia will try to influence the outcome of presidential and parliamentary elections in 2019. This was stated by Secretary of national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov to journalists on Tuesday, July 31. The broadcast led the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
“Today they (the security services of the Russian Federation – ed.) one of the priorities is the internal destabilization of the situation. Of course, they will try to influence the results of presidential and parliamentary elections, but we do not rule out aggressive military actions against our country, when they see that other forms do not bring results,” he said.
In addition, according to Turchynov, the Russian Federation is preparing military action in the Donbass, and may perform them at any time.
“Today we know the whole layout of the Russian Armed forces along our border, they prepare them for active military action. Another question, when it can be used when they can begin a large-scale provocation. We must be ready every day. At the same time the concentration of troops which occurs in the East and South of our country, demonstrates that Russia does not remove from the agenda, the aggressive military uniform pressure on Ukraine”, – said Secretary of the NSDC.
