Ukraine is testing powerful new weapons – self-propelled howitzer “Bogdan”. This was stated by Secretary of national security Council and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, the press service of the Ministry.

“Its important characteristics are high mobility, accuracy, range and high rate of fire,” said he, adding that the special ammunition the howitzer can hit targets at a distance of 60 kilometers.

Turchinov stressed that the new self-propelled howitzers “NATO 155-mm caliber”. “Weapons of this caliber were absent in the APU, it was not in the Soviet army, it is not in the modern Russian army”, – he said.

At the same time Turchynov added that also meets the standards of NATO as a system of gun control and its technology – the Ukrainian defense enterprises.

For its part Biryukov added that “Bogdan” on the wheelbase. The gun has an autoloader for 6 rounds. You can manage it remotely.

Note, first public mention of ACS “Bogdan” appeared July 14, 2014, when military expert Sergey Zgurets said that the installation will be first shown to the public at the military parade in honor of independence Day on 24 August 2018.

During a visit by defense Minister Stepan Poltorak rehearsal of parade of the 27th anniversary of independence of Ukraine, answering a question of journalists about ACS “Bogdan” he said that today a decision will be made on acceptance into service 155-mm gun.
