Using the latest helicopters produced in Russia is promising for the needs of both security and civilian sector. This was stated by Secretary of national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov during his visit to the enterprises-manufacturers of helicopters in the Kiev region, “the announcement of annual and Winston Aero”, said the press service of the NSDC.

“Promising young designers and engineers create a light multi-purpose helicopters which can be used in the border troops, the state emergency service for finding and localization of emergency situations, for reconnaissance and combat missions of the tactical level in the Armed forces. But in addition to the security sector and defense, helicopter production is a very promising direction for the civil sector. Light helicopters are mobile and fast, can solve the problem of transportation. And it’s time to look at the helicopter as normal and effective means of transport,” – said Turchinov.

At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian infrastructure is not ready for widespread use of helicopters as transport vehicles that “if desired, can be quickly changed.”

Earlier the adviser to the interior Minister Ivan Varchenko reported, in Ukraine there will be the police helicopter, which would not only prosecute criminals but also to evacuate people. Also helicopters will be employed to monitor the situation on the state border of Ukraine.

On July 14 it became known about the purchase of the French helicopters in the amount of 555 million euros.
