Two Ukrainian film nominated for the European film Academy award

Two films, shot together with Ukraine, was in the long list of European film Academy. This list includes “Donbass” Sergei Loznitsa (coproduction with Germany, France and Netherlands) and “Mountain woman: in the war,” Benedict Erlingsson (co-production with Iceland and Germany). This was reported on the official website of the film.

“Donbass” tells of life in the occupied territories in the East of Ukraine. A “Mountain woman: on the war” dedicated to the resident of Iceland, which is fighting for the environment, and adopts a girl from our country.

Both of these paintings were first shown at the Cannes film festival. “Donbass” on this forum said the best direction award in the program “Special look”. A “Mountain woman: war” won the award of the Consortium of writers and composers (SACD) in the section “critics Week”.

Just a long list of European film awards got 49 pictures. On November 10th the film festival in Seville (Spain) from this list are selected the nominees for the European film Academy award.

The list also included “Cold war” Paul Pawlikowska, “London-2” Floor king “the House that Jack built” by Lars von Trier, “the Girl” Lucas and Dont “Person” Małgorzata Shumovskii.

Ukrainian film only once won the European film Academy. It was a painting by Myroslav slaboshpytskiy “the Tribe”, which in 2014 won the nomination “Opening of year”.

The presentation of prizes of the European film Academy this year will be held on 15 December in Seville.
