Ukraine and Canada intend to soon start talks on expanding the free trade Agreement. This was announced by extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko in the “Radio HB”.
“I think it’s time to expand the free trade Agreement on services and investment matters. This is the next logical step and I think we even were late with the beginning of negotiations… In the coming months, I think that later in October we will begin negotiations on expanding the scope of the Agreement”, – said Andriy Shevchenko.
According to him, there is a preliminary agreement that the first Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of economic development and trade Stepan Kubiv will visit Canada to hold a session of the bilateral Commission, which administers the free trade Agreement.
The Ambassador stressed that Canada is interested in everything connected with IT-technologies.
“This is a very strong direction for our cooperation. Now a major canadian company important orders passed in the Ukrainian it pros. We’re talking about thousands of Ukrainian it specialists that are involved in writing software for canadian companies. The agreement should create the best conditions”, – said Andriy Shevchenko.
We will remind, the Agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Canada entered into force on 1 August 2017.
