Ukraine and Turkey to cooperate in fight against terrorism, illicit smuggling of migrants and trafficking in persons, cybercrime, money laundering, drug trafficking and transnational organized crime. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of interior following the meeting, the Ukrainian Minister Arsen Avakov with Turkish counterpart Suleyman Soylu in Ankara.
A joint Declaration was signed today. Avakov during the signing said that Ukraine is stepping up cooperation with Turkey in combating terrorism. According to him, there are also agreements on cooperation in the military sphere.
“Have the agreements on cooperation of border guard, police and rescue workers. I’m also grateful for the cooperation in the military sphere. Now we are implementing a big project on the modernization of helicopters Mi-17. It will be 18 helicopters,” ‑ said the head of the MIA of Ukraine.
In addition, a Memorandum was signed on cooperation of the National police and the General Directorate of security of Turkey. The document envisages the exchange of information between countries in law enforcement and training programmes of the police.
