The Ukrainian government will offer Moldova to build a bridge across the Dniester near Yampol Vinnitsa region. About it reports a press-service of the Cabinet.
“Local authorities in Vinnytsia region took the initiative to actualize the construction of a bridge over the Dniester river in Moldova as the shortest route from the Baltic to the Balkans. This project is economically beneficial not only for Ukraine and Moldova, but also the entire European Union. Therefore, the government of Ukraine intends to propose to the Moldovan side to sign in the near future an intergovernmental agreement and to begin construction of the bridge,” – said in the message.
It is noted that the most direct line from the capitals of the Baltic States to Bucharest, Sofia, Athens or Istanbul is the way through Kiev and Chisinau, and between these cities is the shortest route – through the town of Yampil in Vinnytsia region.
“However, until now the connection between the two European countries in the border area of human settlements Yampil-Koseuts per one hundred km distance of the ferry, which does not correspond to requirements and the real needs of States. The construction of a modern bridge reflected in the Transport strategy of Ukraine until 2030. It speaks of “political will” of Ukraine to realize this project” – said Vice Prime Minister-Minister Vladimir Kistion.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the agreement with Moldova on the joint protection of the Dniester river.
