The Supreme qualification Board of judges (vkks) has agreed with international partners on the submission of candidates to the Board of experts in the selection of judges of the anti-corruption court until mid-September. This was announced by the Chairman vkks Sergii Koziakov in comments to television channel “112 Ukraine”.
“We have agreed with the international organizations as possible, no later than mid-September, they will offer their candidates. … No names of these candidates is not yet known. At least we do not know and who are you negotiating with is exactly is not disclosed to international organizations,” said Koziakov.
He answered negatively to the question whether the attempts to put pressure on the CCG in relation to the lobbying of certain candidates in the anti-corruption court.
According to the Deputy Chairman vkks Stanislaus Satki, from July 24 to August 1, 782 people filled out the form, revealing the intention to participate in the contest for the post of anti-corruption judges. He added that to apply will be from 8 August until 14 September.
We will remind, in June of this year in Ukraine came into force the law on Higher anti-corruption court, and a formal act establishing the Anticorruption court. According to the documents, the Highest anti-corruption court should form until June 14, 2019, for a start its work need to type at least 35 anti-corruption judges, of which at least 10 representatives of the appeals chamber.
CCG needs to help elect candidates to the anti-corruption court six representatives of the Council of international experts.
As you know, July 24, the Highest qualification Commission of judges of Ukraine began to register those who intend to take part in the contest for judge of a High court anti-corruption.
Meanwhile, the High Council of justice (SCJ) has approved a staff of 39 judges for anti-corruption court, what 12 of them are representatives of the appeals chamber.
