The wife of the journalist Pavel Sheremet, who was killed in the center of Kiev two years ago, appealed to the Pechersky district court against the inaction of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko. About it reports “Ukrainian truth”.
Olena Prytula requires to recognize her victim, and also claims that the explosion was a terrorist act.
“The audacity with which the terrorists acted, indicates that the purpose of the crime was not the murder of Pavel Sheremet and obtain the psychological effect of panic and oppression of the witnesses of the attack, viewers and friends of the deceased Pavel Sheremet in their own security. It is obvious that the offence is committed for the purpose of intimidation of the population and journalists in particular,” reads the complaint.
The document notes that on February 27, 2018 Prytula appealed to Lutsenko, a statement, in which he asked to investigate this case as a terrorist attack, which led to the death of a person. But until August 1, Yuriy Lutsenko has not responded.
Wife Sheremet asks the court to order the attorney General to make information about the crime in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations as a terrorist attack and start an investigation under part 3 of article 258 (Creation of terrorist group or terrorist organization).
In addition, Prytula asks to be allowed to participate in criminal proceedings as a representative of the victim lawyer Andrew Hominy.
As a reminder, Pavel Sheremet, was killed July 20, 2016 in Kiev. The car in which he was riding was blown up.
As of July 2018 in the investigation of the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet has conducted more than 20 various examinations, some of which are still ongoing. The results of the work at the moment, the investigators developed four versions of the murder Sheremet: professional activities, personal hostility, destabilization of the situation in the country, as well as incorrect attack – the car, which exploded Sheremet, belonged to the editor of the edition “the Ukrainian truth” Alyona Pritula.
The national police said that the investigation established the person involved in the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet in 2016, and continues to work on its identification.
