In the river was opened a memorial sign in honor of Brigadier General of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria ISA Munayev, who died protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression in the Donbas.

The opening was held with participation of the son of General Timergara Munayev, adviser to the Governor of the Dnepropetrovsk area Yury Golik funding the fabrication and installation of the memorial sign, battle sister ISA Munayev on the battalion of them. Dzhokhar Dudayev, which he commanded, as well as locals.

“Four years ago, Dnepropetrovsk region became an Outpost of resistance to Russian aggression. It was from our region went to the front of the first volunteers. And unfortunately, in our area most of the victims in this war. ISA Munaev, the commander of international peacekeeping battalion of them. Dzhokhar Dudayev, which was formed in Dnipropetrovsk region. From the Dnieper ISA Munayev left to protect the freedom and independence of Ukraine. He died protecting his battalion and the last to leave the positions at the exit from Debaltsevo,” said Golik.

Brigadier General died February 1, 2015 and was buried in Dnipropetrovsk region. In his honor, was named a street in the river, which is now a memorial sign.

“ISA – a Chechen by nationality, and the Ukrainian spirit. He loved Ukraine and fought for it until the very end. We will always remember ISA Munayev courageous fighter,” said Golik.
